A sustainable housing concept for people aged 55 and over is being developed on the former Kentalis site in Vught: De Leyhoeve. Investor Bonita Real Estate has the ambition to create a living landscape where residents can age pleasantly together. The 290 rental apartments will be equipped with all conveniences, with care within reach. Volantess oversees the entire process, from zoning plan changes to the completion of the building.

Space for socializing
Joy of living, quality, comfort, and hospitality are central at De Leyhoeve. This is reflected, among other things, in comfortable and age-friendly homes with a wide variety, an extensive range of facilities, and plenty of space for socializing. Think, for example, of a restaurant, bar, swimming pool, wellness facilities, and meeting spaces. The estate and amenities of De Leyhoeve are accessible not only to future residents but also to visitors and residents of the municipality of Vught. In addition, close collaboration is taking place with the neighboring Landgoed Huize Bergen.

Prefab & biobased
De Leyhoeve Vught has a high sustainability ambition. The living landscape is being built in a sustainable manner and in harmony with the surroundings. The design also takes into account the preservation and restoration of cultural and historical heritage. Currently, we are exploring the possibility of modular construction using a prefab system and biobased materials. This reduces waste and lowers CO₂ emissions at the construction site. We are also investigating the possibilities of installing a heat-cold storage system (WKO) and generating our own energy.

Zoning plan change
In addition to our expertise in sustainability, we have utilized our knowledge and experience for the zoning plan change. Together with architectural firm RAU and other parties, we have conducted various studies regarding the change of land use. We have also assessed the financial feasibility of the plan.

Boost for Vught
De Leyhoeve already has locations in Tilburg and Groningen. Construction will begin in Vught in 2024. The project is a significant boost for the Brabant village, and both residents and local residents will be able to enjoy the beautiful living landscape from 2026.
